From campus, Newark Liberty International Airport is just a 25-minute drive along the I-278. JFK is also very close, just 30 minutes away via the Belt Parkway. You can drive to Lower Manhattan in just half an hour from campus, or make use of the superb public transport. The SIM3C bus will take you into the city, or you can take a taxi.
Historic Richmond Town features a collection of original 19th-century homes, schools, stores, and other public buildings. Costumed guides make the area a kind of open museum, providing insights into traditional crafts and trades. Stop in at the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, a unique institution splendidly located on Lighthouse Hill.
For world cuisine, historic landmarks, and fascinating museums, you can't beat Manhattan. Highlights include the Museum of Modern Art, one of the globe's most influential cultural institutions; the Empire State Building; the Statue of Liberty; and Rockefeller Center, which is said to have the best views in town.
