Kids will love the color, and energy of New Orleans, and there's plenty of attractions here geared to families and children. The Louisiana Children's Museum, occupying a 8.5-acre campus close to the French Quarter, houses exhibits with an emphasis on the natural world. Inside, kids can get hands-on with science experiments, and find out about the wildlife native to the Mississippi River. Outside, they can get lost in the labyrinth, learn more about local pelicans, and find out about how food is grown in the edible garden.
Aniother great option down on the banks of the Mississippi is the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. Large tanks and walk-through tunnels recreate the natural habitats of sharks, seahorses, otters, and more. The aquarium is partnered with New Orleans' zoo and insectarium, which are also definitely worth a visit for your young animal enthusiasts. Outside the aquarium, the kids can play along the waterfront Woldenberg Park as you take in the scenic river views.
