Considered the most iconic structure in Tennessee, the Ryman Auditorium was built in the late 1890s to house religious revivals. Today it is world famous for performances by artists such as Presley, Bob Dylan, and more recently, Coldplay and Anita Baker.
Nashville hot chicken is a local specialty. Strongly flavored with cayenne pepper, deep-fried and served with bun and pickle, the hot chicken is a legacy of the African-American communities living here. Hattie B's Hot Chicken and Prince's Hot Chicken Shack are renowned places to try this dish.
