The Jacksonville Onslow Council for the Arts offers art shows and exhibitions, as well as hosting art workshops and holding many art-based events. A community initiative designed to bring people together and empower artists, it's the main creative hub in the Jacksonville area.
The Freedom Fountain is located in downtown Jacksonville. The fountain was created in response to the first Gulf War to honor all those that have served or are serving in the US Military.
The Pelletier House was built in 1850 by merchant Rufus Ferrand Pelletier and it is now the oldest and only remaining antebellum home in the city. With its pretty Greek Revival exterior and historical significance, it's definitely worth a visit.
Families with young children will enjoy the Zing Zumm Children's Museum of Jacksonville, where kids aged one to ten can learn through play with their interactive exhibits, or attend one of the many events hosted by the organization.
