Curacao's history as a Dutch colony and part of the slave trade is explored at the Kura Hulanda Museum in Willemstad, where you can see various exhibitions and artifacts from the island's past. Visit Fort Amsterdam, one of the Caribbean's best examples of Dutch architecture, and Fort Nassau, which provides spectacular views of the city of Willemstad.
This was the perfect home for us, it had all the amenities we needed (blender, toaster, coffee maker, washer etc.) and was a great lay out. The deck is beautiful and we spent a lot of time in the morning and evening enjoying the view from the deck, you can sometimes hear music coming across the bay too. The pool was a welcome addition for our teenager. The location was great, walkable to a few restaurants and beach, or a short car ride to more including grocery stores in Jan Thiel or along the Caracasbaaiweg. This is a good location to access other areas on the island if you have a car, (just avoid the rush hour as the road to/from Willemstad is very slow at this time). The host was responsive and check-in/check-out was quick and easy. We would stay again.
